Two years ago, I went to NYCC for the first time. I’d just been screwed over by my job, and I needed a fresh start. By the end of the con, I set a goal for myself: I wouldn’t return until I had a product to launch. That day has arrived. Sort of.
My path has taken a few different turns in the last two years. I started work on my comic almost immediately after con, but then life got in the way. My career took a few turns, and I had to say goodbye, at least for now, to creating comics. Then, a few months ago, I got a call from Nico. And I was back in the game.
While I can’t be there physically with the rest of the Demon Hotel Digital team, I’m certainly there in spirit. It’s a dream come true to be part of this amazingly talented group of artists. This project was the kick I needed to get back into writing. I can’t thank the DHD team enough for that.
For now, I’m just the maintenance man around the Demon Hotel, but that’s just fine with me. Somebody’s got to keep the joint running.
