When I was just a little child, I asked my mother, what would I…no, that’s not it.
When I was a little girl, my father…wait. That’s the opening monologue from Revenge.
RIGHT. Okay. When I was a kid, my dad took me to comic cons. He basically ruined all other forms of fun for me for the rest of my life. Nothing compares to a comic con. Meeting new friends, creators, THE BARGAIN HUNTING OH MY GOD, and getting to be part of something huge.
In a lot of ways, that’s PJ’s story. He saw something he loved and fought to become part of that world. And the team here at The Demon Hotel kind of sort of did the same thing. Admittedly, ours doesn’t involve as much punching, but oddly, the same amount of lycra.
The Demon Hotel is THRILLED to announce we’ll be bringing Kid Riot on the road! Yes!!!! June 13th, The Demon Hotel will be at FlameCon 2015 at The Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn! FlameCon is a celebration of LGBT nerd culture sponsored by GeeksOut who are doing an amazing job with this.
This is seriously a dream come true for all of us here at The Demon Hotel. Taryn, Kevo, and I have attended cons together every year for quite some time, and it’s been some of the best memories we have together, and now we want to share that with all of you.
This announcement leads to another one! Our 2015 Con Debut will not just feature us at our first table, but……THE DEBUT OF KID RIOT MERCH! Keep a look out for collected issues, sketchbooks, comissions, and tons more fun at the table, so come say hey! We cannot wait to meet you all! Dare I say…it’ll be THE BEST CON EVER.
So, yeah. It’s gonna be a big year for Kid Riot. Two titles, new staff, merch, and cons? What more could you ask for? Oh wait, that’s right. Stay tuned for more announcements from The Demon Hotel. It’s just getting good.
